GreenS was among the participants and panelists of the two-day international conference “Good for business, good for environment”, held on April 21-22, 2016 in Varna. The event gathered local authorities, business and scientific organisations providing them opportunity to meet and discuss the development of the green business with European politicians and experts.
Official guests of the conference were Mr. Stoyan Pasev – governor of Varna Region, prof. Rosen Vassilev – Rector of the Technical University of Varna, Mr. Dobromir Dzhikov – city councilor of Varna, Mrs. Ventseslava Yanchovska – Manager of Innovation Norway for Bulgaria, and foreign experts. Over 60 participants made use of the opportunity to hear and discuss the latest trends in the green entrepreneurship and green business for clean environment.
Mrs. Milena Nalbancheva from the Black Sea Regional Agency for Energy Management presented GreenS project and the advantages of the GPPs as part of the best practices and opportunities for cooperation between green business and local authorities. She emphasized the benefits of the GPPs and introduced the newly established Green Public Procurement Supporting Structure, created officially within the BSRAEM as from January 2016. Its goal is to provide and give public authorities long-term support and technical assistance on Green Public Procurement at national, regional and local level. The presentation of Mrs.Nalbancheva covered additionally the topics of “Train the trainer seminar”, carried out in Brussels in February 2016, the need of GPP training for public administraation and the results of the GPP best practices research. The next steps of the project activities were also announced.
