Riga, Latvia – The seventh and the final GreenS roundtable for Steering committee members took place on 25th January, 2018.

On 25 January, 2018 in the premises of Riga City Council GreenS project Latvian Steering Committee members gathered together to overview the results of Green project and indicate the future cooperation possibilities.

Ms. Aija Zučika, Riga Planning Region, Project GreenS Manager gave presentation about GreenS project results that have been reached in these three years. Presentation consists of detailed overview about outcomes of each work package. She stressed out the results that can be used in the daily work of the purchaser realizing green public procurement, with particular emphasis developed technical documents – technical specification and criteria for evaluation.

Mr. Māris Klismets, Minsitry of Environmental protection and regional development, the head of Coordination department, presented the planned activities for green public procurement implementation support in 2018. First he presented legislation regulation and the changes regarding green public procurement criteria that are set mandatory, than Methodological support and other activities of the Ministry relevant to green public procurement in the end.

Mr.Oskars Putāns, Central purchasing organisation, Deputy Director of the Law Enforcement Department gave introduction about the situation in public bodies’ procurement in 2017.  12.53 % of all purchases have included green public procurement criteria an only 3.68 % in purchases that are in the price category 10 000 – 42 000 EUR.

Ms. Elita Kļaviņa, State Regional Development Agency, Electronic Procurement Department, head of catalogue department, presented legislation framework for public electronic purchasing. She indicated the goods and services which have to be purchased via public electronic purchase system and present catalogues

ters Toropovs, Balitc Environmental Forum, project:„Innovative Management Solutions for Minimizing Emissions of Hazardous Substances from Urban Areas in the Baltic Sea Region – NonHazCity”, project manager presented  project, project activities. Project aim – work with municipalities and educate them how to minimize emissions of Hazardous Substances in waste water.
