In the frame of a GPP training seminar  organized by FAMP, the second  GreenS’roundtable took place in Cádiz last 21 of October 2016. After the first roundtable devoted to the launching of our GPP Andalusian Network , this second roundtable has dealt with the importance of GPPprogressive Institutionalization in the society.

 

As guest speakers taking part in this roundtable were invited Mr. Rafael Díaz Regañón, as responsable of the Purchasing Centre of an homologous organization  representing municipalities from the whole country (FEMP), Mrs.Esperanza Caro, representing the Local Energy Agency of Seville, Mr. Josep Esquerrà i Roig, from Ecoinstitut Barcelona, an organization which works since 1999 for the protection of the environment and the introduction of sustainability principles in all sectors of society, Mr. Filippo Giglio, representing

ALESSCO, the organization acting as coordinator of the project, and . Mr. Jaime Durán, from the Andalusian Agency of Knowledge, acting as a moderator.

 

 

As main conclusions, the key ideas for a progressive institutionalization of GPP model in the Public Administration, we can extract the following ones:

  • Environmental criteria must always be technical criteria, easily verifiable and checkable.
  • Sustainability and Innovation must be always present in any public procurement process. Complementarity between them should be always ensured.
  • The Institutionalization of GPP must begin within public administration itself, by means of raising awareness, coordination, communication and training measures adapted to all the staff and agents taking part in the process.
